"Into His Light" 10x20

Perhaps it is all part of the "artists' temperament", but I tend to struggle with anxiety; so, I love paintings that remind me of better, brighter, dependable things.  The flowers in this painting basically represent how I feel at times - like I am in a totally dark room when, suddenly, a door is opened and light floods in from the narrow opening to brighten my soul.  Specifically, for me, the "happy thought" represented by the light is the indescribable, glowing joy of redemption - of the brighter life I have in Christ.  It's meant to be a picture of the transforming power of the mighty God Who saves. 

"You are His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

The media provided to represent this painting are primarily from images captured in my own studio under white light.  These images are taken prior to varnishing the painting, as varnish coats greatly increase the likelihood of light glare.  However, it is important to note that varnish may also have the effect of enriching the colors and deepening contrasts.  For this, and many other reasons noted elsewhere on this Site, it is vital to view the representation of the painting as the best attempt to give an overall sense of the painting and not as an identical reproduction.
