"Kid" 10x20

I am so ridiculously attached to this little guy! He looks out at me with his innocent, inquiring gaze, and I just feel like answering him with fields of sunshine and flowers and long grasses and, of course, lots of rocks to climb.  Life is such a joy when you're a "kid".

The media provided to represent this painting are primarily from images captured in my own studio under white light and are intended to give a general sense of the painting and should not be regarded as identical reproductions.  I have also made the decision with this painting not to apply protective varnish coats of any kind as it would affect the raw burlap texture and add a gloss that I felt would detract from the final result I wanted to achieve with this "look."  (Obviously, whether or not you choose to varnish it after receiving it is entirely dependent on whether you agree with this assessment.)  It is particularly important, therefore, that the painting not be placed in direct sunlight since it will not have the UV protection of the varnish layers.  This also means that, over time, the paint layers will gradually accumulate microscopic particles that will not be able to be removed.  Hanging the painting in a clean area (e.g. – not near a dryer or air duct) with frequent light dusting, ideally with a gentle(!) air duster is, therefore, recommended.  Also, without the varnish, there will be no restoration options in the event of staining or other damage.  Like a flower that blooms every hundred years, this one-of-a-kind painting will not live for many generations but, LORD willing, it will bring much joy to your own.
