"Mists of Time" 12x16

I never would have thought that I would have gone for a painting like this, let alone painted it myself!  But there is something so simply elegant, so pensively peaceful about it that I discovered I found it calming and uplifting just to stare at it.  Of course, I also really love horses, so I'm certain the memories of "dancing" dressage horses didn't hurt my mood any either. ;)  The name for this painting comes from the mottled look of darker and lighter hues of yellow-aged "mists of time" and is meant to be a reflection of the majestic role of horses through the ages.

The media provided to represent this painting are primarily from images captured in my own studio under white light.  These images are taken prior to varnishing the painting, as varnish coats greatly increase the likelihood of light glare.  However, it is important to note that varnish may also have the effect of enriching the colors and deepening contrasts.  For this, and many other reasons noted elsewhere on this Site, it is vital to view the representation of the painting as the best attempt to give an overall sense of the painting and not as an identical reproduction.
